Grand Vice President for Alumni Affairs (GVPAA)

About This Office

The duty of the Grand Vice President for Alumni Affairs (GVPAA) shall be to supervise the activities of the Regional Directors for Alumni Affairs (RDAAs) under the direction of the Grand and Executive Councils. Further, the Grand Vice President for Alumni Affairs shall promote participation of Alumni Brothers, support activities of Alumni Chapters, encourage and assist in the establishment of new Alumni Chapters, assist Alumni Brothers in assisting Collegiate Brothers, and to deliver to that person’s successor all documents belonging to the office. The GVPAA and RDAAs shall establish mechanisms to maintain and provide updated lists of alumni addresses and establish mechanisms to maintain communications with Alumni Brothers.

Dena Dillon, PharmD

Dr. Dena Behm Dillon, Pharm.D., AAHIVP, earned her Pharm.D. degree from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida and an Infectious Diseases/Critical Care Specialty Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Dena’s love for Phi Delta Chi started when she was initiated in 1992 at Alpha Chapter. She remains active, serving as co-advisor for the Nu Chapter which she was instrumental in reactivating. She has served as Midwest Regional Director for Alumni Affairs and facilitator of Leader-Development Seminar, as well as facilitating at multiple national and regional meetings and giving multiple CE programs for her Brothers. She has also served the Brotherhood by conducting a Focus visit and multiple ChEQ visits, both as part of her duties as Regional Officers and as a volunteer. She was honored to recently be granted awards for Outstanding Chapter Advisor and Honorary Grand President.

Dr. Dillon is a specialized pharmacist with a passion for the care of people living with HIV, which she’s had the privilege of doing for over 25 years. She loves to teach others, and often has learners with her in the adult and pediatric HIV Clinics at University of Iowa HealthCare. She has worked as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at University of Iowa HealthCare and as a research analyst at the VA Health Care System in Iowa City, working to set up and research an HIV telehealth clinic. She currently serves as Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the adult and pediatrics HIV Clinics at UIHC, consultant and mentor for Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC), and Partners PrEP coordinator for Iowa TelePrEP (an HIV prevention program which she helped to start). She serves the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy as Adjunct Associate Professor, participating in the Ambulatory Care rotation at UIHC and precepting students and residents in the Virology Clinic.
