The Phi Delta Chi Fraternity began meeting as a national Organization in 1900 in Chicago, Illinois at the first Grand Council. Grand Council is the "Ultimate Fraternal Experience" and brings together Brothers from across the country to conduct the business of the Fraternity. Grand Council continue to this day meeting every other year on the odd year.
Phi Delta Chi's Leader-Development Seminar (LDS) began at the 1989 Grand Council in Monterey, California. LDS is a non-fraternal, learning experience to develop life-long leadership skills. LDS began meeting as a stand alone conference in 1990 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. LDS continues to this day meeting every other year on the even year.
